On the 5th of September 2012 Leora Rosner said that when she’d decided she was going to change the world, her first plan was to rob a bank. Plan B was to start locally by greening the rooftops of Amsterdam.

She taught us about vegetation in the city and the animal life that comes from that. Did you know for example that city bees are healthier than country bees? Pesticides and fertilizers are not used in cities, that’s why.

Some attendees talked about their angry neighbour that tore the plants off their wall. Leora immediately said she would come round to talk to the neighbour about roof top planting and gable planting.
As the evening went on, Leora’s diary filled up with more appointments like this 🙂

Leora will have a book out soon called “Green Roofs in Amsterdam”.
There will be a book presentation plus exhibit in November.
Of course we will let you know where and when exactly.
**UPDATE: Leora’s book is out! http://www.twinstone.nl/Green-Roofs-Amsterdam-p-16540.html **

Leora’s slides are here.
